The National Institute of Technology Hamirpur (NIT Hamirpur) was established in 1986 in the
state of Himachal Pradesh. The institute is jointly supported by the Government of Himachal
Pradesh and the Government of India.The institute has been recognized as institute of
national importance and hence the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)
has bestowed it with the Deemed University status.
