Engineering
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (VNIT), named after the great engineer,
statesman & visionary of modern India and Bharat Ratna Awardee M. Visvesvaraya, was established
in June 1960 by the Government of India in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra,
with an aim of imparting excellent technical education at undergraduate level in the state.
One of first six Regional Engineering Colleges set up by the central government in association with
various state governments across the country; the institute has traversed a long path.
