The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body registered under society's registration act 1860 was established in 1942 by a resolution of the Central Legislative Assembly.

With the objective of developing new tools and applications for the industrial segment of the country and thus proving extra impetus to the scientific and technological progress of the country the strategic road map designed for CSIR envisages the following
