Dataquest 'a reputed publication of Indian IT industry' rated IIIT Hyderabad as "Top 10 Engineering Colleges in India" in its 2006 annual survey.
According to Rajeev Agarwal, CEO, MAQ Software- "We are amazed by the technical knowledge of students and the research focus of the faculty. Students are aware of new cutting edge technologies in mobile development and Web 2.0".
Placement constitutes an integral part of IIIT Hyderabad mission. The institute invites the entrepreneurs and corporate to recruit the IT manpower. The IIIT Hyderabad has to take the following initiatives in future to make its placement process more efficient and effective-
Future Initiatives
Listed below are some of the proposed initiatives for the placement season 2008:
- Post academic year placement season
- Common Placement Test (CPT)
- 10-to-15-day placement season (a very brief placement season, unlike in current and past years)
- Mini career fairs each day (= this means around 10 employers each day)
- There would not be dream and non dream classification of recruiters; all recruiters would be treated on par
- Students would be allowed two offers each
Placement Season
The placement season 2007 would be of 41 days and conducted in three phases.
Phase one and three of the placement season consist only of weekends - Saturdays and Sundays - in order to avoid disrupting classes.
Phase two coincides with the 15-day Sankranti vacation, and would see placement initiatives each day, except for the four days1 starting January 5.
