The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal that JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 be postponed. Today the Supreme Court dismissed the petition, filed by a group of students and parents seeking the postponement of the JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 entrance exams. The court has stated they can not impede the career paths of students lakhs as the entire academic year is at stake. The court said that life cannot be put on hold due to COVID-19 crisis.
As per the latest directive, both the JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 exams will be held in accordance with the schedule previously announced by the NTA. The JEE Main 2020 is expected to take place from 1-6 September, and the NEET 2020 will be held on 13 September. Earlier, the exam had been rescheduled in the aftermath of Covid-19 keeping students health and security in check. Registered to more than 25 lakh to appear in the examination, await clarity on the matter.
The apex court heard two sets of pleas-cases for and against JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 being postponed. One petition requests that the JEE Main 2020 and NEET 2020 exam be postponed beyond their scheduled date in September, while another petition, submitted by a group of students and parents, opposes any further delay in carrying out the entrance test.
