BRAOU organized Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Lecture at its campus as part of 131st Birthday Celebrations of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on April 14,2022.
Honble Justice V. Eswaraiah (Retd), Chairperson, Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh (Retd) Chief Justice, High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Former Chairperson, National Commission for Backward Classes, Govt. of India delivered a lecture on "Dr. B.R.Ambedkar and Constitutional Morality - Contemporary Relevance and Way Forward" He explained that Dr Ambedkar had faced many insults from the society before independence and that untouchability made him think well. He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture. Seven decades after independence, the equality that Ambedkar wanted has not come to fruition. Ambedkar wanted a society of equality and economic equality without discrimination
Prof. K. Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU presided over the function. Prof. Rao said that on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti and the completion of 40 years of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, material related to the 40 popular courses of the university will be made available on the University website. The Telangana Government has announced jobs and competitive examinations in support of Telangana students.
We will provide material for students for those who are writing competitive exams. The competitive books will provide at nominal cost. Those who want it in the form of books and the necessary steps will be taken soon.
Prof. E. Sudha Rani, Director (Academic) welcomed the gathering. Dr.G.Laxma Reddy, Registrar, introduced the chief guest. The program was attended by Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Dr. AVN Reddy, Dr. Vaddanam Srinivas, Prof. Pushpa Chakrapani, Dr. Pramila Kethawath, Dr. B. Srinivas, Dr. Venkata Ramana Dr. Gunti Ravinder, Maheshwar Goud, Bhoolakshmi, V.M Sarma, leaders of the SC/ST association representatives of service associations and Directors, Heads of the Branches, Deans, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff members garlanded the statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and offered rich floral tributes. The Prizes distributed to the winners in games and sports competitions conducted on the occasion.
