Supreme Court To Hear Petitions Questioning the Laws of UGC Final Year Exam
The Supreme Court will hear todays appeals filed by a community of 31 students against the University Grants Commission ( UGC)s final year exam guidelines. The students from Karnataka, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Meghalaya and many other states sought to quash the UGC notice published on 6 July, in which the Commission asked universities to conduct the final year examination compulsorily by september 30.

In order to make it mandatory for the universities to conduct the final year exams, UGC advised them to perform the exams in either online or offline mode or by opting for a blended mode in which examinations can be conducted both online and offline.

In need of postponement of the exam, students have said that the students final year results should be determined on the basis of their internal assessment or past performance.
