Ephemeral Messaging Feature is now in WhatsApp:

A new Ephemeral Messaging (disappearing messages) functionality on the platform has been revealed by the WhatsApp app. By November 2020, this feature will be available to all users globally.
 
Highlights:
♦ Mobile-to-Mobile transmission of multimedia messages that instantly disappear from the recipient`s screen after the message has been displayed is an ephemeral function.  
♦ The word "ephemeral" describes something that lasts only for a short period of time.
♦ Other messaging apps, such as Telegram and Signal, already offer such an alternative.
♦ Turning on messages that disappear-users can have some more control over which chats are saved.
♦ The time limit for all users is set at seven days and has been determined.
 
ISRO Successfully Launched PSLV-C49/EOS-01 Mission:
 
The earth observation satellite EOS-01 has been successfully launched by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). Onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C49), India `s newest Earth observation satellite, EOS-01, was launched.
 
Highlights:
♦ The PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) is an ISRO-designed and operated four-stage expendable medium-lift launch vehicle.
♦ The main goal is to launch low-earth orbit satellites, however small-sized Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) satellites can also be launched by PSLV.
♦ India`s third generation launch vehicle is the PSLV. It is the first Indian launch vehicle with liquid stages to be built.
♦ Satellite phase 2 (Vikas Engine) and phase 4-liquid fuels, first and third phase-solid fuels.
♦ The EOS-01 Earth observation satellite has been put in an orbit of 575 km. The EOS-01 is for agriculture, forestry and disaster management support applications.
♦ The mission also included bringing nine other spacecraft into orbit. The nine satellite customers originated from the United States, Lithuania and Luxembourg.
♦ After the COVID-19 pandemic triggered lockdown interrupted 10 missions scheduled by the organisation, this is ISRO`s first mission in 2020. 
♦ The mission`s success is a reflection of the organisation`s resilience to succeed in the mission, even in the face of restrictions on the movement of goods and people.

Gov Tech-Thon 2020 has concluded on 1st November:

 
The Gov Tech-Thon 2020 closed on November 01, 2020. It is 36 hours, pan - India virtual hackathon coordinated by IEEE, National Informatics Center (NIC) and Oracle, under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
 
Highlights:
♦ The virtual hackathon got enrollments from more than 1300 competitors framing 390 groups. 
♦ Shortlisted 447 candidates from 100 groups partook in the Hackathon on the five-issue proclamations gave by 3 central government services – Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers` Welfare, Ministry of Road Transport and Highway and Ministry of Education. 
♦ NIC, set up in 1976, is an appended office of the MeitY. It gives ICT and e-Governance backing to the Government. 
♦ NIC led "Informatics-Led-Development" by executing ICT applications in social and policy management and encourages electronic conveyance of administrations to the administration (G2G), business (G2B), resident (G2C) and government representative (G2E).
