PM Modi inaugurated the Global Millets Conference

 
On March 18, 2023, in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the World Millets (Shree Anna) Conference. He will speak to the group on this occasion as well. A number of stakeholders, including international scientists, nutritionists, health experts, start-up leaders, and agriculture ministers from other nations, will be present at the conference.
 
About The Global Millets Conference:
 
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets (IYM). The declaration was based on India’s proposal.
 
All central government ministries/departments, states/UTs, farmers, start-ups, exporters, retail businesses and other stakeholders are being engaged to promote and spread awareness about the benefits of millets (Shree Anna) for the cultivator, consumer and climate.
 
This is being done in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to make the celebrations of IYM 2023 a ‘people’s movement’ and position India as the ‘global hub for millets’.

RBI’s Data Centre And Cybersecurity Training Institute To Come Up In Bhubaneswar

At Bhubaneswar, Odisha, during a foundation-laying ceremony, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das started the construction of a "Greenfield Data Centre" and a "Enterprise Computing & Cybersecurity Training Institute."

 

About The New Data Centre and Training Institute:

 

The new Data Centre and Training Institute, which will cover an area of 18.55 acres, will be able to address the emerging needs of the RBI and the financial sector, according to a statement by the central bank.

Significance of the Data Centre And Cybersecurity Training Institute:

 

The Governor stressed the importance of enhancing the RBI’s existing computing infrastructure with state-of-the-art facilities for research and capacity building in central banking, technology, and cybersecurity to prepare for the future.

 

 

The Governor also acknowledged the vital role played by technology in supporting the activities of the financial sector and the RBI in recent years, particularly in facilitating a robust recovery from the pandemic.

Tamil Nadu’s 18th Wildlife Sanctuary Opens in Erode

Thanthai Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary will now be the state`s number 18 wildlife sanctuary, according to the Tamil Nadu government. Located in the Anthiyur and Gobichettipalayam taluks of the Erode district, this sanctuary spans an area of 80,567 hectares and comprises reserve forest areas in Anthiyur, Bargur, Thattakarai, and Chennampatti. Many wild animals, including tigers, elephants, leopards, wild boars, gaurs, and deer, call it home. This wildlife sanctuary is close to other sanctuaries like the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary in Karnataka, the Malai Mahadeshwara Wildlife Sanctuary, the BRT Wildlife Sanctuary, and it connects the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve and Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary.
