PM Modi Launched Development Programs in Karnataka and Maharashtra

 
In advance of the elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a number of development initiatives in Maharashtra and Karnataka. During his visit to the Karnataka districts of Yadgiri and Kalaburagi, PM Modi lay the cornerstone for many construction projects relating to irrigation, drinking water, and a National Highway development project at Kodeka in the Yadgir district.

  • The foundation stone of the Yadgir multi-village drinking water supply scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission was laid at Kodekal.
  • A water treatment plant of 117 MLD will be built under the development schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • The project which cost ?2,050 crore will provide potable water to about 2.3 lakh households of more than 700 rural habitations and three towns in the Yadgir district.
  • PM Modi will also inaugurate Narayanpur Left Bank Canal- Extension Renovation and Moderation Project (NLBC-ERM).
  • The project with a canal carrying a capacity of 10,000 cusecs can irrigate 4.5 lakh hectares of command area.
  • It will also benefit more than three lakh farmers in 560 villages of Kalaburagi, Yadgiri, and Vijaypur districts.
  • The total cost of the project is estimated to ?4,700 crores.
  • The Prime Minister will also distribute title deeds (Hakku Patra) to the eligible benefit of the newly declared revenue Village in Kalaburagi district.
  • During the program, he will also lay the foundation stone of the 71 km section of NH-150C.
  • The six-lane Greenfield road project is also a part of the Surat-Chennai Expressway.
  • It is being built at a cost of more than ?2,100 crores.
  • Surat-Chennai Expressway will pass through six states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

PM Modi Distributed Land Title Deeds or `Hakku Patra` to Banjaras

Over 52,000 qualified recipients from the nomadic Lambani tribes living in northern Karnataka received title deeds, or "Hakku Patra," from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The five families were among the more than 50,000 families who received land title deeds as part of the initiative. The state Revenue Department in Malkhed, Karnataka`s Kalaburagi district, organised the event.

 

A Hakku Patra in Kannada means “Claim Letter”. The words "Hakku" mean "the right". A legal document known as a "Hakku Patra" details a person’s legitimate inheritance or ownership of a particular property.

 

Benefits of Hakku Patra:

With the help of this document, the bearer is eligible to purchase and sell land to which the title deed is granted by the government. They will further receive bank benefits by means of the Hakku Patra. This Hakku Patra will secure the future of thousands of people living in the “Thandas” (Lambani habitats) in Kalaburagi, Bidar, Yadgiri, Raichur and Vijayapura districts.

  • The Sandur Lambani Embroidery technique of the Banjara people is a GI tagged art form.
  • This style of textile embroidery is tagged to Sanduru in Bellary of Karnataka. Red and blue are the most common colors used in the embroidery.
  • It has about 30 different stitches and 10 motif design types. It includes decoration with shells, beads, mirrors, coins, etc.

Indian Air Force to Conduct Exercise ‘PRALAY’ in Northeastern Part of India.

In light of the ongoing dispute with China over the two countries` varying conceptions of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Indian Air Force (IAF) is preparing to undertake Exercise PRALAY in the northeastern part of India. Along with the freshly deployed drone squadron, the drill will include important IAF air sites in the northeast.

 

Key Points

  • The Exercise PRALAY will be held in the next few days amid IAFs’ defensive posturing along the Indo-Sino Border.
  • It is signified by its activation of the S-400 air defense systems along the LAC. The S-400 is capable of striking the target from 400 kilometers away.
  • Exercise PRALAY will include major combat assets including the recently acquired Rafale fighter in addition to Su-30 fighter jets and other transport aircraft.
  • The Indian Air Force is monitoring the situation as there is a significant increase in Chinese activity along the LAC, in Doklam and Tawang.
  • The recent deployment of an IAF drone squadron to the northeast region augments its capabilities of monitoring enemy activities along the Siliguri and the Sikkim Corridor.
  • The exercise will be conducted amid the preparations for another IAF exercise called ‘Poorvi Akash’ set to be conducted in the first week of February.
  • Exercise Poorvi Akash is an annual command-level exercise and is being conducted after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • The Indian Air Force’s Eastern Air Command has the entire northeast air space under its area of operation (AOR).
