PM Modi to Inaugurate National Youth Conference in Karnataka on 12 January 2023

 
According to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officiate at the opening of the National Youth Festival, which will be held in the twin cities of Hubballi and Dharwad. In honour of Swami Vivekananda`s birth anniversary on January 12, the National Youth Festival will be held that day.
 
Key Points
  • Around 7,500 representatives from all the States will participate in the youth festival. The National Youth Festival is organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand which falls on 12 January.
  • The first National Youth Festival was started in 1995 as a major activity under the programme of National Integration Camp. The 25th National Youth Festival was organised in Puducherry.
  • Swami Vivekananda`s birthday on January 12 is always celebrated as National Youth Day and 12-16 January every year is observed as the National Youth Week.

LG Manoj Sinha Launched 3 New Schemes for Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir`s Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha unveiled three new programmes: Aspirational Towns, Aspirational Panchayats for J&K Union Territory, and Holistic Development of Agriculture & Allied Sectors. The administrative council has finally given its approval to the projects, which have a 5013 million rupee budget.

 

Key Points

  • Over the next five years, these projects would transform the agriculture economy of J&K putting it on a new trajectory of growth with doubling the output of the sectors and making them sustainable and commercially viable.  Lt. Governor said, this will herald a new phase of farmer prosperity and rural livelihood security in J&K.
  • The agricultural output which stands at Rs 37,600 crore shall increase by over Rs 28,142 crore to reach more than Rs 65,700 crore per year, with a resultant increment in sectoral growth rate to 11 per cent.
  • The interventions shall create employment opportunities for over 2.8 lakh youths and establish around 19,000 enterprises.
  • On the Aspirational Panchayat Development Programme, Jammu and Kashmir is going to select the most backward 285 panchayats — one panchayat in each block — for their holistic development.
