Adani Green becomes World`s Largest Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Developer

 
At Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, the third wind-solar hybrid power plant from Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the Adani Group`s renewable energy division, has been put into operation. India`s first 390 MW hybrid power plant had been operationalized earlier by AGEL in May 2022. After that, the 600 MW largest co-located hybrid power plant in the world was put into service in September 2022.
 
Both these hybrid energy generation assets are located in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. With the successful commissioning of this 450 MW plant, AGEL now has a total operational generation capacity of 7.17 GW. This also makes AGEL the world’s largest wind-solar hybrid power farm developer.

UIDAI Topped the Grievance Redressal Index For the Fourth Consecutive Month in November

For the fourth consecutive month in November, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) led all group A ministries, departments, and autonomous entities in the grievance redressal index for resolving public complaints.

The report was published by the Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances Department (DARPG)

The Electronics and  Information Technology Ministry stated that UIDAI has moved towards a centralized grievance handling mechanism through its Open-Source customer relationship management system. UIDAI’s new open-source CRM (customer relationship management) system has enhanced user experience and improved service delivery to the residents.

UIDAI’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning based Chatbot, Aadhaar Mitra is also gaining popularity and soon the conversations happening there on a daily basis are going to cross 50,000 figures.

 

About UIDAI:

  • The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is a statutory authority established on 12 July 2016 by the Government of India under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, following the provisions of the Aadhaar Act 2016.
  • The UIDAI is mandated to assign a 12-digit unique identification (UID) number (Aadhaar) to all the residents of India.
  • The UIDAI was initially set up by the Government of India in January 2009, as an attached office under the aegis of the Planning Commission.

Govt Allocates Rs 1037.90 Crore to New India Literacy Programme for Next 5 Years

For the next five years, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has approved a new programme called the "New India Literacy Programme" to address all facets of adult education in accordance with the new National Education Policy (NEP).

 

The ministry has also decided to use "Education For All" instead of "Adult Education" as the previous term did not appropriately represent all non-literates in 15 years and above age group.

The objectives of the scheme is to impart not only foundational literacy and numeracy but also to cover other components which are necessary for a citizen of 21st century such as critical life skills including financial literacy, digital literacy, commercial skills, health care and awareness, child care and education, and family welfare); vocational skills development with a view towards obtaining local employment); basic education including preparatory, middle, and secondary stage equivalency, and continuing education including engaging holistic adult education courses in arts, sciences, technology, culture, sports, and recreation, as well as other topics of interest or use to local learners, such as more advanced material on critical life skills.

How It Will Be Implemented:

The scheme will be implemented through volunteerism through online mode. The training, orientation, workshops of volunteers, may be organized through face-to-face mode. All material and resources shall be provided digitally for easy access to registered volunteers through easily accessible digital modes like TV, radio, cell phone-based free, open-source apps and portals.

 

This Scheme:

  • The scheme will cover non-literates of the age of 15 years and above in all state and union territories.
  • The target for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy for financial years 2022-27 is 5 crore learners using Online Teaching, Learning and Assessment System (OTLAS) in collaboration with National Informatics Centre, NCERT and NIOS in which a learner may register him/herself with essential information like name, date of birth, gender, Aadhaar number and mobile number.
  • The estimated total outlay of “New India Literacy Programme” is Rs 1037.90 crore which includes Central share of Rs 700 crore and state share of Rs 337.90 crore respectively for 2022-27.
  • While the states and union territories will be provided flexibility to undertake innovative activities, school will be unit for implementation of the scheme and will be used for conducting survey of beneficiaries and voluntary teachers.
