Cabinet Approves a Dearness Allowance or Dearness Relief Increase

 
The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners ranging from 3% to 34%.
 
Highlights:
 
  • The Union Cabinet, led by PM Narendra Modi, has authorized an increase of 3% to 34% in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, compared to the current rate of 31% of Basic Pay/Pension. 
  • To adjust for the price increase, the increment will take effect on January 1, 2022.
  • The total impact of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief on the exchequer would be Rs. 9,544.50 crore per year. 
  • This raise conforms with the established methodology based on the 7th Central Pay Commission`s recommendations. 
  • Around 47.68 lakh Central Government employees and 68.62 lakh retirees will benefit from the increase.

For the fourth time, the India Boat & Marine Show (IBMS) was held at Bolgatty Palace in Kochi, Kerala.

  • The India Boat & Marine Show (IBMS) was held for the fourth time at Bolgatty Palace in Kochi, Kerala.

  • IBMS is India`s sole and most crucial boat and marine industry trade show. Cruz Expo, based in Kochi, is organizing the event. Leading international brands and domestic boat manufacturers from across the country were on display at the IBMS 2022. The exhibition had 45 exhibitors from across India and two international exhibitors.
  • Cochin Port Trust, Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, and Cochin Shipyard were among the PSUs and agencies that attended the event. The IBMS Expo 2022 focused on the needs of MSMEs in the marine and boating industries.
  • Leading worldwide brands and domestic boat makers from across the country will be on display at the exhibition.
  • Mainstream craft such as motorboats, speed boats, jet skis, kayaks, water scooters, scuba diving, fishing boats & trawlers, and other maritime equipment will be on show in addition to marinas, engines, navigational and other systems and equipment.

  • The state government, according to an official declaration, will work to determine the future of primary education and the holistic growth of elementary schools.
  • Shravasti implements the `School Chalo Abhiyan` since it has the lowest literacy rate in the state, 
  • The districts that had the lowest literacy rates in Uttar Pradesh are Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun, and Rampur.
  • Students will receive uniforms, shoes, and socks as part of the campaign.
  • According to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who told officials that not only will public representatives be involved with the `School Chalo Abhiyan,` but that MLAs must also adopt a school each, government schools must achieve the goals of `Operation Kayakalp,` that aims to give schools a facelift.
