Indian Navy Participates in Maiden Trilateral Exercise with Mozambique and Tanzania

 
The first iteration of the Tanzania, Mozambique, and India Trilateral Exercise kicked off on October 27, 2022, according to the Defence Ministry. The first trilateral exercise with Tanzania and Mozambique included participation by the Indian Navy. The guided missile frigate INS Tarkash, a Chetak Helicopter, and MARCOS are all representatives of the Indian Navy.

  • The exercise has three main objectives including capability development to address common threats through training and sharing of best practices, Enhancing interoperability, and strengthening maritime cooperation.
  • The exercise has been held till 29th October 2022 which also includes the Harbour and sea phases.
  • In the harbor phase, various capacity-building activities are involved which include visit, board, search, and seizure.
  • Small arms training, joint diving operations, damage control and fire fighting exercises, and cross-deck visits are scheduled in the capacity building activities.
  • The sea phase includes boat operations, fleet maneuvers, visit, board, search, and seizure operations, helicopter operations, small arms firing, formation anchoring, and EEZ patrols.

41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair Fall inaugurated at the Expo Centre

 
 
According to the Emirates News Agency, Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Sharjah, officially opened the 41st annual Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), which will run from November 2 to November 13 at the Expo Centre Sharjah (WAM). The event`s opening ceremony, which was held under the theme "Spread the Word," was also attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the deputy ruler of Sharjah.

  • The fair witnessed the launch of the first volumes of the ‘Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language.’
  • He also highlighted the importance and benefits of the dictionary in research and history, its comprehensiveness of all Arabic linguistic knowledge and its informational uniqueness.
  • Dr Sheikh Sultan concluded his speech by calling on everyone to benefit from the great cultural event in the Emirate.
  • The Sharjah Ruler took a souvenir photo with the scholars who contributed to the project of the ‘Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language’ from linguistic academies in the Arab world.
  • He also honoured the cultural personality for this edition, the Sudanese historian, Professor Yusuf Fadl Hasan.
