Karnataka Rajyotsava Awards 2022:

• The government is following the lead of the central government. Padma awardees are chosen solely by the central government.

• No applications are received from the candidates. The award is additionally called Rajyotsava Prahasti. 

• It is the state`s second-highest civilian award, and it was presented on November 1. The award includes a trophy and a sum of one lakh rupees (20 grams).

• It was known as the Mysore State Award between 1966 and 1972.

• The awards are given to outstanding individuals in the fields of drugs, sports, science, arts, industry, education, public affairs, and welfare work.

• Because November 1 is the Statehood Day of Karnataka. Per annum, Karnataka celebrates Rayotsava Day on November 1. 

• On November 1, 1956, the state was established. Prior to 1956, the state was known as the State of Mysuru. In 1973, the name was changed to Karnataka.

• Karnataka was founded on the concept of language. On November 1, the following states were formed: Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh.

• During the republic day celebrations, the names of the Padma awardees are announced. The awards are presented at Rashtrapathi Bhavan by the President of India.

• These awards are presented within March or April. The Padma Awards Committee selects the awardees. 

• The committee is chaired by the Prime Minister. Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and Padma Shri are the three Padma awards presented.

• The Padma Shri award is given for distinguished service. The Padma Bhushan is awarded for distinguished service of the highest calibre.

• The Padma Vibhushan is presented for exceptional and distinguished service. Government servants aren`t eligible to urge these awards.
