Amit Shah inaugurated Vedic Heritage portal in New Delhi

 
Amit Shah, the Union Minister of the Interior, opened the Vedic Heritage webpage in New Delhi. The portal`s main goal is to spread the Vedic teachings and make them more understandable to the general public.
 
About The Vedic Heritage portal:
 
According to Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, the Vedic Heritage portal now has audio-visual recordings of the four Vedas. These recordings contain over 18,000 mantras of the four Vedas, with a total duration of over 550 hours.

The portal will act as a one-stop solution for anyone who wants to search for information about the Vedic heritage, making it easier for them to understand the messages and teachings of the Vedas.

Cheetah Sasha dies due to kidney ailment in MP’s Kuno National Park

At the Kuno National Park in MP, India, a Namibian cheetah went away. Sasha the cheetah was apparently in good health when it was sent to India on September 17, 2022, but a kidney infection was later found. This incident was a setback for the initiative to increase the number of cheetahs in the nation.

  • The cheetah had been brought from Namibia on September 17th, 2022, as part of India’s initiative to reintroduce cheetahs into the wild after their extinction in the country over 70 years ago.
  • The initiative was launched in 2018, and the government had planned to release 50 cheetahs into the wild in the next few years.

  • Kuno National Park is situated in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh, which is in central India near the Vindhyan Hills.
  • The park spans an area of 748 square kilometers and is located within the larger Kuno Wildlife Division.
  • Initially, it was established as a wildlife sanctuary, but its status was changed to a national park in 2018.
  • The park is named after the Kuno River, which is one of the primary tributaries of the Chambal River, and runs through the region, which is predominantly grassland.
  • The park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the jungle cat, Indian leopard, sloth bear, Indian wolf, striped hyena, golden jackal, Bengal fox, dhole, and over 120 species of birds.
  • Kuno National Park was selected as part of the “Action Plan for the Introduction of Cheetah in India.”

Jaipur to get India’s 2nd largest cricket stadium named after Anil Agarwal

In order to construct the third-largest cricket stadium in the world in Chonp village, Jaipur, Vedanta`s Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) and the Rajasthan Cricket Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). One of the greatest corporate investments in India`s sports infrastructure, this project will cost 300 crore INR. The Anil Agarwal International Cricket Stadium, Jaipur, will be the venue`s name.

 

The MoU was signed by Bhawani Shankar Samota, Honorary Secretary of the Rajasthan Cricket Association, and Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, in the presence of Dr. C.P. Joshi, Hon’ble Speaker of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha and Chief Patron of RCA, Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc and Non-Executive Director of Vedanta Ltd., and Vaibhav Gehlot, President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association.

 

Key Points

  • Some of the features of the new stadium include its status as the world’s largest cricket playing field, with a seating capacity of 75,000, making it one of the biggest cricket stadiums globally and the second-largest in India.
  • The stadium will be spread over 100 acres (4,04,685 sqm) and will have the biggest playing area. It will also be easily accessible via the Delhi-Jaipur Express Highway.
  • Notably, it will also have the largest playing field area of any cricket stadium in the world.
  • The construction of the stadium will be completed in phases. The first phase will cost Rs. 400 crores, with a 40,000 capacity set to be completed by October 2023. Hindustan Zinc Limited will contribute Rs. 300 crores to the project, while the Rajasthan Cricket Association will provide the remaining Rs. 100 crores.
  • In addition to its seating capacity, the stadium will feature an indoor games facility, training centers for other sports, a clubhouse, and parking for 3,500 vehicles. HZL has also pledged support for the construction of the stadium’s second phase, which will have a seating capacity of 35,000.
  • The Anil Agarwal International Cricket Stadium will host both national and international matches, including games of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The stadium and its facilities are expected to contribute significantly to the development of Rajasthan as a major hub for cricket and other sports.
