Wipro announced the signing of a five-year agreement with Nokia for digital transformation.

• Wipro Ltd. is a company with its headquarters in Bengaluru, and it has announced the signing of a new, 5-year contract for digital transformation with Nokia of Finland.
• The new contract expands on a connection that was 1st formed over 20 years ago. 
• Wipro will give business services in support of Nokia‘s updated working model, putting a special emphasis on process optimization, improved user and customer experience across order management, touchless processing, supply chain, accounting operations, and finance.
• An official statement about the agreement was released, but Wipro highlighted that it mentioned the deal in the press release released with the financial results of FY22 without mentioning the client or size information or providing terms.

Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, introduced the "Smart E-Beat" system for the Gurugram Police.

• Manohar Lal Khattar, the Haryana Chief Minister, has launched an app-based Smart E-Beat system. This was launched for police attendance and real-time monitoring of patrolling by personnel in Gurugram.
• CM Manohar Lal Khattar launched this system at an event at the office of the Commissioner of Police and then flagged off 119 motorcycle police riders connected with it.
• The Smart E-Beat system was introduced in Gurugram under the Smart Policing Initiative (SPI). This system will help the policemen to mark their attendance and in the monitoring of their rides.

Rajarshi Gupta has been appointed as ONGC Videsh`s MD.

• Rajarshi Gupta is appointed as Managing Director of ONGC Videsh.
• Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) recommended him for the position. 
• He has over 33 years of experience in supervisory, managerial, and strategic planning abilities in the domestic and international operations of ONGC and ONGC Videsh.

RBI Adopted a 4-Tier Regulatory Structure for Urban Cooperative Banks

• To improve the financial soundness of Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs), the RBI decided to form a 4-tiered regulatory framework.
• A board of experts led by N S Vishwanathan, a former RBI deputy governor had presented many suggestions for improving UCBs.
• With other recommendations, the committee suggested a 4-tiered regulatory structure depending on the size of the banks’ deposits and the regions in which they functioned.
• For Factors, such as net worth, the Capital to Risk-weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR), exposure limitations, and branch expansion, a differentiated regulatory approach was advised.
• A vital component of the recommendations was belonging to an umbrella organisation. The RBI agreed to a number of committee recommendations.

The first district to certify "Har Ghar Jal" is Burhanpur, MP.

• Burhanpur is a district in Madhya Pradesh, and it became the 1st Certified `Har Ghar Jal` district in the Country.

• People from 254 villages in Burhanpur declared their villages as "Har Ghar Jal" through a resolution passed by Gram Sabhas.

• It certifies that all people in the villages have access to safe drinking water through taps, confirming that `No One is Left Out.`

`Connecting Through Culture` was introduced by Dr. S. Jaishankar at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan.

• At Sushma Swaraj Bhavan in New Delhi, India, the External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, presented "Connecting through Culture," an anthology of essays on many facets of India`s soft power strengths.
• The Minister explained the book as a good cop in diplomacy and also said that it could be used to motivate others to work with India because it creates comfort about India.
• It takes various aspects of India, and to some degree, it also brings out the familiarity with different facets of India.

The Sardar Patel Award of ICAR was given to National Academy of Agricultural Research Management.

• The National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) received the Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institute Award 2021.
• for its overall performance. 
• Director of NAARM Ch Srinivasa Rao received the award from the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar in New Delhi.

The National Emblem was unveiled by PM Modi on the roof of the new parliament building.

• PM Narendra Modi unveiled the National Emblem cast on the New Parliament Building`s roof.
• He interacted with the Shramjeevis involved in the building work of the new Parliament. It is cast at the top of the Central Foyer of the New Parliament Building.
• The National Emblem is made up of bronze with a total weight of 9500 kgs and is 6.5 m in height.
• A supporting structure of steel weighs around 6500 kgs and has been constructed to support the Emblem.

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya Replaces National Rail and Transportation Institute

• National Rail and Transportation Institute is upgraded as Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. The deemed to be a university will be upgraded to a central university. The university is renamed Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. 
• The Union Cabinet has approved the introduction of a Bill in Parliament, called the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2022, to amend the Central Universities Act, 2009 for setting up Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV).
• The amendment would help convert a Deemed-to-be University, National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), into Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, a Central University. 
• The NRTI offers BBA in transportation management courses, BSc in transportation technology, and MSc in railway system engineering and integration.

• The Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya is expected to be a key enabler for developing the transportation sector, which is strategically critical for the economic growth and development of India. 
• The sector needs a steady supply of highly trained personnel and state-of-the-art technology. 
• The university`s scope will expand beyond the Railways to cover the whole transport sector to support its growth and modernization.

Uddhav Thackeray Resigns As Maharashtra Chief Minister

• Uddhav Thackeray has resigned as the Maharashtra Chief minister. 
• This came immediately after the Supreme Court refused to remain Maharashtra Governor`s direction to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government to take a floor test in the Assembly. 
• Late in the evening, Mr. Uddhav submitted his resignation to Mr. Bhagat Singh Koshyari. 
• The Governor accepted the resignation of Mr. Uddhav and asked him to officiate as the CM until alternate arrangements were made.
• Uddhav Thackeray said that he had come (to power) in an unexpected manner, and he was going out in a similar fashion. He revealed that he was not going away forever, he would be there, and he would once again sit in Shiv Sena Bhawan. He added that he would gather all his people, and he was also quitting as a member of the Legislative Council.

Krishi Yatra Scheme Was Launched By Karnataka Government

• The Karnataka government launched the "Krishi Yatra" scheme. 
•  
• The Kashi Yatra project, which provides cash assistance of Rs 5,000 to each of the 30,000 pilgrims willing to conduct a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.
• For this, the government will be using funds of up to 7 crores from the accounts head of "Assistance to Manasa Sarovara Pilgrims," which was announced in the CM`s budget speech for the financial year. 
• Shashikala Jolle, who is the Minister for Religious Endowment, Hajj, and Wakf, said any pilgrim taking up the government-sponsored "Kashi Yatra" would receive the benefit only once in a lifetime.

• Beneficiaries who already availed the subsidy once are not eligible

• The sports arm of the Adani Group, Adani Sportsline, has inked a long-term principal sponsorship deal with the IOA, short for Indian Olympic Association.
• Officially, it will be the partner of the Indian contingent in the upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, the Paris Olympic Games 2024, and the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022. The group was earlier associated with the Indian contingent during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
